How to Apply
Charter Schools
Families can easily apply to most charter schools in Philadelphia through Apply Philly Charter (applyphillycharter.org)! Submit one application to multiple schools by January 23, 2023. If your student is offered a seat, you must accept (or release) a seat through your Apply Philly Charter login. The school will contact you for information to enroll. Visit applyphillycharter.org to see participating schools.
For charter schools not participating in Apply Philly Charter, individual deadlines and applications vary. On greatphillyschools.org, you can easily find deadlines and application links on each school’s profile. Click the button below to find more information.
Private Schools
Most private schools accept applications independently. Learn more about their application processes by viewing the school profiles below.
Need help paying for private school? Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia offers four-year, need-based, partial scholarships for up to three children per family. Visit the CSFP website to apply.
District Schools
Families can either register to attend their neighborhood school or apply to a district school outside of their neighborhood.
Some District K-8 schools are accepting out-of-catchment applications. Families interested in applying to a public district school outside of their neighborhood and citywide or special-admission schools must apply through the School Selection Process application, due November 4, 2022. You can apply to up to five schools through the application, not including their neighborhood school.
Kindergarten registration for District neighborhood schools usually opens in January and ends in May. See more details on the School District website.
